Eddie Gale's music has been distributed worldwide on Blue Note/EMI since the sixties and has received numerous awards and recognition for public service in the arts including the Jefferson Award in 2006.  Gale's muted trumpet can be heard in the Smithsonian Collection of Classic Jazz with piano great Cecil Taylor. Gale was proclaimed San Jose's Ambassador of Jazz by then Mayor Norman Y. Mineta in 1974 and has been endorsed by Mayors since including Mayor Sam Liccardo.

Gale is scheduled to perform at the 2018 San Jose Jazz Summer Fest on Friday, August 10, 2018, at the Fairmont Hotel's Club Regent, two sets starting at 8:30 PM. For information and tickets visit: https://summerfest.sanjosejazz.org/artists/eddie-gale

Gale's current special projects include Annual Concerts for Inner Peace in America and the World featuring his Inner Peace Orchestra. The next Concert will be held on September 15, 2018 in celebration of World Peace Day at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Join us when Eddie Gale, the Official San Jose's Ambassador of Jazz, is presented with a commendation by the City of San Jose Mayor after introductory remarks are provided by Councilcmember Chappie Jones.

The presentation is open for anyone to attend and will take place at the City Hall Council meeting on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 1:30 PM.

The entrance to the City Hall parking garage is located off 6th Street (across from Lee's Sandwiches).

THE AFRICAN AMERICAN JOURNEY EXHIBIT (CURATOR: MS. CLARISSA MOORE) CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL DAY OF AMERICAN JAZZ

Honoring San Jose’s Ambassador of Jazz, recording artist trumpeter EDDIE GALE’s 50th year as a world renown recording artist starting on the international record label Blue Note Record and who also appears in the Smithsonian Collection of Classic Jazz with master musician, pianist Cecil Taylor. In 1987 (HR 57) Congress proclaimed Jazz as America original national treasure. This program will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 International Celebration of American Jazz Day
