Eddie Gale's music has been distributed worldwide on Blue Note/EMI since the sixties and has received numerous awards and recognition for public service in the arts including the Jefferson Award in 2006.  Gale's muted trumpet can be heard in the Smithsonian Collection of Classic Jazz with piano great Cecil Taylor. Gale was proclaimed San Jose's Ambassador of Jazz by then Mayor Norman Y. Mineta in 1974 and has been endorsed by Mayors since including Mayor Sam Liccardo.

Gale's current special projects include Annual Concerts for Inner Peace in America and the World featuring his Inner Peace Orchestra,  April Jazz Appreciation Month and April 30 International Day of Jazz.

Eddie Gale will be presented the Piper-Whye Award Art/Theater/Music Category Black Legends Hall of Fame Silicon Valley Award. The award and induction ceremony will be held at the Hammer Theatre in downtown San Jose, CA on Saturday, February 16, 2019, starting at 5:00 pm. This stellar Red Carpet event is in celebration and acknowledgement of the Black Pioneers of the Silicon Valley, whom are being inducted into the Black Legend Hall of Fame Silicon Valley.

The event is providing an opportunity for the community to celebrate the accomplishment and contribution of a selected group of African American in the Silicon Valley.

A teaching opportunity to educate the African American youth and the community to understand and appreciate heritage of the African American.

The Black Legend Awards is the fundraising event for the creation and development of the San Jose Black History Museum Silicon Valley.

Eddie Gale is scheduled to perform at SJ Jazz Summer Fest

Fairmont Hotel, Club Regent , 170 South Market Street, San Jose, CA

Eddie Gale will perform with his American Jazz Unit at the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest. The Silicon Valley Stage is located inside the Fairmont Hotel’s Club Regent. There will be two sets starting at 8:30 pm. To attend you must purchase the All Stage ticket for Friday, August 10.

Join us when Eddie Gale, the Official San Jose's Ambassador of Jazz, is presented with a commendation by the City of San Jose Mayor after introductory remarks are provided by Councilcmember Chappie Jones.

The presentation is open for anyone to attend and will take place at the City Hall Council meeting on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 1:30 PM.

The entrance to the City Hall parking garage is located off 6th Street (across from Lee's Sandwiches).

THE AFRICAN AMERICAN JOURNEY EXHIBIT (CURATOR: MS. CLARISSA MOORE) CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL DAY OF AMERICAN JAZZ

Honoring San Jose’s Ambassador of Jazz, recording artist trumpeter EDDIE GALE’s 50th year as a world renown recording artist starting on the international record label Blue Note Record and who also appears in the Smithsonian Collection of Classic Jazz with master musician, pianist Cecil Taylor. In 1987 (HR 57) Congress proclaimed Jazz as America original national treasure. This program will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 International Celebration of American Jazz Day
